WOMEN'S WEB AT THE BOSTON SOCIAL FORUM THIS WEEKEND!
On July 23-25, 2004 at the University of Massachusetts at Boston, a coalition of progressive community organizations, non-profits, and unions will be hosting the Boston Social Forum (BSF). A regional forum within the World Social Forum process, the BSF has been called to help progressive activists begin to answer some very basic questions: What kind of future do we want for Boston? For our nation? For the world? What is our vision of a better society?
Through a series of workshops, cultural events, plenary sessions, and giant convocations of the entire forum, we are encouraging progressive organizations of all kinds to showcase their best analysis of the present, and their best ideas for the future, across the breadth of human knowledge - politics, economics, science and technology, culture and faith - in the context of corporate globalization.
The BSF events are organized into thematic "tracks" and the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom along with The Global Peace Initiative of Women, The Global peace Initiative of Religious Leaders, The Center for New Words, The Brazilian Women's Group, The Association of Haitian Women, STEP, The World March of Women, Wand, Code Pink and NOW Boston are facilitating the organization of the Women's Web/The Feminist Agenda. In reality, the Women's Web refers to the creation of several interactive, public spaces defined by women and informed by women's priorities. In addition, those involved in planning this track will seek out and nominate qualified female and/or feminist speakers to the planners of the BSF's other tracks.

* a PEACE TENT for difficult conversations
The Women's Web is creating a Gallery of Peace Portraits of women to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Please offer your suggestions of women you think should be on the list (the goal is 1000 women). These can be local women or women from anywhere in the world who have contributed to Peace.
