"Women and Power III: Our Time To Lead" - Presented by Omega and V-Day,

September 11-13, 2004 at NYC's Sheraton New York Hotel

"Women and Power III: Our Time To Lead" is a unique gathering for women

who want to redefine power and lead from core female values. For the past

two years, Omega Institute and V-Day have been holding unique gatherings

of women who are exploring the new power paradigm. This year, we invite

you to New York City to join V-Day as we explore women, power and how

through leadership we can bring an end to violence against women and girls

When I'm with women whose power comes from their deep feminine wisdom, I

am filled with hope for the world. That's what we will be doing together

at Women and Power - finding hope, inspiration, and the courage to lead.

-Elizabeth Lesser, cofounder of Omega Institute, and director, with Eve

Ensler, of the Women and Power conferences

I am always amazed at the powerful energy that is released in a room when

women come together. We need to celebrate that energy and channel it into

energy that moves us to ally, to support each other and to take back

control over our lives, bodies.and the world! When we are powerful and in

our power, it's harder for someone else to push us down, shut us up and

violate us.

-Eve Ensler, V-Day Founder/Artistic Director

Join "Women and Power III" for three days of provocative discussions,

interviews, and keynote talks with Eve and V-Counsel members Jane Fonda,

Academy Award-winning actor, social activist; Carole Black, president and

CEO of Lifetime Entertainment; Pat Mitchell, president of PBS and its

first female chief executive, former president of CNN Productions and Time

Inc. Television; and Mellody Hobson, president of Ariel Capital

Management, financial contributor on ABC's Good Morning America.

V-Counsel member Eileen Fisher sponsored the scholarship fund through

which 150 young women from diverse communities will attend the conference.

(Scholarship selections have already been made.)

Eve will also interview diverse groups of women, including Vagina Warriors

from Afghanistan and Iraq. All conference attendees will be able to

interact with other workshop participants and to share ideas on power and

violence against women.

In addition to Eve and the V-team, participants, will include Julia

Stiles, Azar Nafisi, Iyanla Vanzant, Sarah Jones, Marion Woodman,

Johnnetta Cole, Debra Winger, Sister Joan Chittister, Naomi Shihab Nye,
