ABOUT US

Awakened Woman was created in 1999 by Stephanie Hiller as an offering to the goddess -- a forum for the voices of women committed to freedom, justice and truth throughout the world.

Stephanie is a journalist and editor who has been responsible for several small news publications in her community. She also teaches students in the West Sonoma Charter Home School. She is first and foremost a student of healing. She has two grown children and lives in the redwoods.

Diane Rae Schulz (Sarada) is co-editor. Sarada is a student of women's issues and intercultural studies now earning her M.A. After raising three boys on her own, she is presently enjoying the blossoming of her teenage daughter. She is a world traveller with a uniquely penetrating vision of human affairs.

Our hard work has been aided and abetted by many members of the women's community in West Sonoma County. First and foremost we thank Leslie McIntyre for her contributions and for holding our circle during its formative years.

We are also grateful for the contributions and support of Roberta Walter, Deanna L'am, Danica Anderson, Starhawk, Vicki Noble, Rose Frances, Deborah Lesueur, Suzanne Deveuve, Sandra Stanton, and friends Sue Ann Crane, Lilith Rogers, Susan Stoddard, as well as all our contributors.

We are a circle, a woman's circle which seeks to embrace all women's circles working towards the same end: the reassertion of women's wisdom for the benefit of all who live on this beautiful and abundant planet earth.

Please join us. Let us know what your group is doing, what you'd like to see on our pages, what your concerns are, and most precious of all, tell us your stories.

Together we can do what can none of us can do alone: we can wrap our arms around the world.

Blessed be,

Stephanie and Sarada
